Definition

As it relates to the automotive industry, it is a part which wasn't exactly the same as what was originally used by or sold by the manufacturer. It could be a stock replacement part (for something worn out) of the same, less or higher quality - like a brake pad. It could be a custom part that changes the appearance, like a set of custom wheels. It could be a replacement part to increase the performance of the vehicle - like a set of headers. It could be something which didn't come with the car - like a Navigation system. In any case, it is made and sold by someone other than the manufacturer.
