Beginnings of a Wiki, feel free to improve
As it applies to drag racing, the qualifying rounds are a phase of the race where it is determined if the racer will go to the eliminations phase of the event, and who they'll match up against on the competition ladder. This is usually based on ET, but some classes (such as Open Comp in NMCA) will build the ladder based on RT.
