A Pony Car was a 2-door coupe with a longer hood and a shorter deck, made to appear like a 4-seat sports -- and attract the younger drivers. Ford was most often thought of to be the first to have a Pony Car, with their Mustang. In actuality, Plymouth beat them to market with the Barracuda. Other Pony Cars include the Chevrolet Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, AMC Javelin, Plymouth Barracuda, Dodge Challenger, and Mercury Cougar.
