As it applies to [[drag racing]], it refers to a measurement of ET 1,000 feet down the [[drag strip]] on a 1/4 mile or 1,000' track. It it the measurement taken between the 1/8 mile (660') and 1/4 mile (1,320'). After the death of [[Scott Kalita]] at the [[Englishtown]] track, [[NHRA]] moved up the finish line from [[1320']] to 1000' for the [[Top Fuel]] classes.
