As it applies to the MoparWiki, "Intermediate" is most often referred to as a medium sized car with a size larger than a Compact, but smaller than a Full Size car offered. For instance, in 1965 Dodge's compact was the Dart, the Intermediate was the Coronet, and the Monaco was the Full Size.
