The 9.25" [[rear end]] replaced the Dana 60 as the most heavy duty rear axle offered. It was mainly used in [[big blocks]] with [[4-speeds]] and/or [[trailer towing]] optioned cars. The [[ring gear]] is 9.25" in diameter, and that's where it gets its name.
