A wet block is an engine block that uses a liquid as an engine coolant. A [[Dry Block] would be a block without the internal water passages for coolant to circulate through it to cool. AFilled Block is a wet block that has had the water passages filled with a concrete like substance for strength, and a half filled block has the passages filled only half way to the top of the block. Dry, Filled and Half filled blocks are primarily used in DragRacing, where the engine is only run for a few seconds and strength is a more important factor than cooling the engine.
